Artistic Director
Lars Kaario is founder and conductor of Laudate Singers. He is a busy choral director, voice teacher, educator and adjudicator. As Director of Choral Studies in the Bachelor of Music Transfer Program at Capilano College, the choral program has grown to three choirs with about 200 singers. Under his direction, Capilano College Singers has toured extensively and garnered several awards in national and international competitions.
Mr. Kaario is chief instructor in the College’s new Conducting Certificate program.
He started his musical career as a singer, performing with many of Vancouver's finest choirs and appeared regularly as a soloist and recitalist, in operas and oratorios. He is a past recipient of the Judy Dennis Award for outstanding contributions to the arts on the North Shore.
Lars balances his musical life with family and recreational pursuits .
