I first sang with Laudate from September 1999-April 2001. I missed singing with the intimate and challenging group so I recently decided to try and rejoin after the four years away. I couldn't have picked a better time then this, Laudate's 10th year Anniversary! Other than singing, I also indulge in travelling. Whether I'm camping out in the rough along BC's raging rivers or relaxing by a poolside in a tropical paradise sipping on a "mojito", you can always hear my distinctive laughter echoing over the water.

Being a member of the Laudate Singers has been a wonderful experience for me. This is the first time I’ve sung in Gaelic and I feel that it brings me closer to my birthplace in Northern Ireland. I grew up in Saskatchewan where I started singing at an early age. I’ve been addicted since then and have had many great choral opportunities which have ultimately led me to Laudate. While I have a variety of other interests, the one that takes up a good deal of my time is working in the field of English as a Second Language.

Music and singing is my foremost passion and I consider myself lucky to be a part of Laudate and to have had the opportunity of singing with such wonderful musicians for the past 10 seasons. I began my voice studies in Toronto, with The Royal Conservatory of Music. Presently, I am pursuing my professional singing career in Vancouver, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque music repertoire and performance. As well, I love to encourage other singers and have established my private voice studio (ccvoicestudio.ca). Photography is another love and I have had my photography business (bcnaturalphotography.com) for over 13 years since moving to BC. You’ll never know where I will turn up with my camera…although I still haven’t figured out how to sing and take photographs at the same time!

I first sang with Laudate singers during the 2000/2001 season, whilst studying voice at Capilano College. After attaining a Bachelor of Music Degree from UBC in 2004, I returned to Laudate Singers during the 2006/2007 season. I feel fortunate to be a part of this group and its inspiring atmosphere. In addition, I am an Alto section leader and member of the quartet at Holy Rosary Cathedral. Other than singing, you can find me in a local North Vancouver classroom, where I work as an Elementary Music Teacher. I also like reading books of varying types, sipping lattes by the fire, and waiting for the latest offering from "Masterpiece Theatre."

I've been singing in choirs ever since I was
seven years old when I joined the junior choir at church. In addition to several church choirs, I have been a member of the Gallery Singers and the Vancouver Cantata Singers. This is now my fourth season with Laudate Singers and I am continually impressed with the quality of music that we do, particularly the works from our composers-in- residence. Teaching piano keeps me busy, as well as my work as a research assistant in the Department of Microbiology at UBC - a job that is always fun and challenging. I have two wonderful teenaged daughters, both of whom are singers. In my spare time I'm a
rabid but time-challenged gardener and a committed cook.
